High Pressure Gas Tube Trailer Hose
|
STI Components Tube Trailer Hoses are designed for strength and
durability. Details and advantages of each are provided below. Hoses herein are all anti-static conductive for high velocity gas flow. |
| |
 |
| |
Style 8TX PTFE Teflon Inner-core, ½” I.D. Stainless Steel Braided Tube Trailer Hose
- High Flow gas transfer with smooth open bore, self cleaning, non-stick characteristic of PTFE.
- Zero maintenance service and long service life with greater flexibility, lighter weight, and low gas permeation
- Used for hydrogen and helium gas transfer, oxygen and inert gases, for high flow offload /delivery
- Static-dissipating conductive inner-core
|
| |
Style 8S6D 316 Stainless Steel Inner-core, ½” I.D. Stainless Steel Braided Tube Trailer Hose
- Stainless steel corrugated inner-core hose configuration as described in our stainless steel pigtails section
- Used primarily for hydrogen and helium gas transfer, where the rate of transfer due to equalizing pressure with the destination vessel is at a reasonable rate, and where the tube trailer is used as a primary pressure storage source in a customer station application
- Zero-permeation characteristic allows for continuous pressurization of the hose without product loss.

Style 8MMD Monel Inner-core, Monel Braided, Monel end fittings Tube Trailer Hose
- Monel corrugated inner-core hose configuration as described in our stainless steel pigtails section
- Zero permeation hose with maximum corrosion resistance, typically used for highly corrosive gases such as HCL
- Allows for a reasonable transfer rate. Also, extremely compatible for high pressure oxygen gas.
CAUTION: Extremely high velocities in corrugated metal hose will induce a resonant vibration which can result in premature failure. Flow velocity in a straight section of braided metal hose should be limited to 120 ft. per second for gas and 60 ft. per second for liquid (less conservative limits are 150 ft. per second and 75 ft. per second respectively). When the hose is installed in a bent condition, these flow limits should be reduced by 50% for a 90 degree bend, 25% for a 45 degree bend and so on, proportional to the angle of the bend. In cases where the velocity exceeds the above values, the inner diameter of the hose to decrease the resultant velocity, assuming the MAWP specified for the hose is acceptable for the application.
PTFE (smooth bore) inner-core hoses are not prone to fatigue due to flow velocity and are a better choice for high velocity gas flow applications.
OPTIONAL- ARMOR CASING – STAINLESS STEEL INTERLOCK
Armor Casing is highly recommended for any of these hose styles, since the hose will be handled with some frequency and likely be dragged on the ground when being connected and disconnected. The armor casing protects the braid wire exterior of the hose, allows for ease of handling, and promotes the service life of the hose. |
